Three Muskehoundsby ~TaijaVigilia

Few weeks (couple of months?) ago there was a forum conversation where someone brought up childhood cartoons. Around the same time Tanya drew this awesome re-working of the Three Muskehounds which happened to be my childhood cartoon #1:

Inspired by all the muskehounds talk I drew my version, it's not a reworking or anything, I'm far too conventional for that and it's very loosely based on the cover of a copy of The Three Musketeers I had as a kid. When I say loosely based, I really mean it, I've not seen the book cover in well over fifteen years now and all I remember is a bunch of musketeers sitting around campfire or candle or something looking at a map or maybe a letter. Like said, loosely based. Taken me a while to scan in and do any colours, life has been pretty hectic lately. I'm not particularly happy with the colours either but don't really have the time for anything better right now. The gloominess I suppose reflects the last couple of weeks.

This is great, I love how you've done Porthos, Aramis, Athos and Dogtanian. The lighting and Shading is very good too.

I loved this cartoon as a kid

I recently started watching the episodes again, and noticed how little I remember of the cartoon. Well, I was very little back then...

Anyways I love the characters in your style, especially Dogtanian. I was never very fond of his design but he looks so adorable in your style~
