This is the last of the random request week prizes and it's for
The request was simply "Could you draw belle lost in a huge pile of books and beast trying to find her?" which instantly made me go omgomgomg that's so cute why didn't I think of it and then I started drawing it... and went oh yeah.. books. Lots of books. Lots and lots of books. And then some more books. In a pile. All over the place. But it was still so cute I *had* to do it. If I ever have lots of spare time in my life I'd love to do this as a sort of "Where's Waldo" page with the whole library but alas that'll have to wait till retirement. Only thing that had me stuck for a moment was what light to give Belle in her little book-cave. Open flame candle felt a bit unsafe but then I came across Argand oil lamps which were a brand new invention in 1700s France and a predecessor for the more familiar-looking bulbous victorian oil lamps. So that's what she got as it's at least sort of close to the supposed pseudo-historical era of the film.
So sweet, lol.. I'd be like belle, losing myself books and then my boyfriend digging me out and having to drag me away from the lovely horde of a thousand lives ^_^ neat job!!
Love this! That was a great ideal to put a oil lamp in there. Keep making these amazing drawings! Hey can you make a drawing of Ariel showing her daughter Melody all her collection. Then Ariel shows her all the fun adventures she had. And then they do them together. That would be a cool drawing sort of like a collage.
I could see her wanting to have a little private reading time, and "getting lost" to accomplish that, especially after they were getting close. I like to imagine that once he started having feelings for her and gave her the library, he was constantly following her around to see what she was up to all the time. So with that in mind, she was probably wondering when she'd ever have that library to herself.
Awesome work, I really love the watercolor job on this. And their facial expressions are so cute!
